Not Just a Business Its a Legacy

Hair Candy Salon is not just a business its a family legacy that started with my auntie and second mother Tracey Hardaway. The original founder and creator of Hair Candy Salon, she birthed this salon out of the love she had for helping women feel good about the way they look.

She constantly nurtured and poured into this business to make sure it had everything it needed to grow, be successful and be a blessing. My aunt eventually decided to retire and pass the legacy down to me. I am forever grateful for the knowledge and the education that my aunt instilled in me so that I can continue to grow the company she birthed many years ago.

With continued education to keep my skills on trend I will continue to keep the vision and her legacy alive that she created with her company for many years to come.

Meet the Owner

Jasmine Thompson

Salon Owner/Master Stylist

I got my first weave when I was 14 years old, it was love at first sight, and I have been rocking one ever since. I honestly think I have had every style imaginable.

My love for all things hair started when I was 8 years old. My mom bought me a toy salon and I would spend hours styling all of my doll’s hair. I had no idea that this toy salon would one day be Hair Candy Salon and that my toy dolls would now be all of the amazing women I have had the privilege to style since 2009.

My commitment to providing the ultimate hair weaving/extension customer experience, is what motivated me to expand my knowledge beyond the beauty industry. After getting my cosmetology license, I earned my Bachelor Degree in Human Services from the University of Memphis and my Master Degree in Education from Bethel University. I did this while working as a part-time hair stylist for Regis Hair Salon.  So when you sit in my chair and want to talk about some hypothetical issues about your “friend’s man”- I got you!

In addition to expanding my education, I have also spent the past 11 years working closely with the original owner of Hair Candy Salon, Your Extension Suite, who happens to be my Auntie so this hair thing is also in my blood. Working closely with my auntie and attending advanced training in several hair extension techniques such as braided and braidless (micro-linking) weaving; custom wigs, and various nonsurgical hair restoration techniques for women dealing with alopecia has been priceless. I also, stay current on all of the trends and colors to keep you looking your best.

As a native Memphian, I also believe in community and giving back which is why I also work with students with disabilities helping them   As a wife and mother of a beautiful baby boy (Yuri), I know how easy it is to focus on the people we love and how we can tend to neglect ourselves, which is why I created my Queen Sisters Organization. Queen Sisters has helped women embark on the road of transformational change, by helping them engage in social change, educating themselves economically and encourages them through life explorations, while elevating to their higher self.

I am so glad you stopped by my site. Take a look at my services and don’t hesitate to send me a message. I look forward to meeting you!
